Hi Pezeril,

Do you need shear waves in your simulation? Why not use the acoustic model,
kspaceFirstOrder2D
?

Best wishes
Ben

Hello,
I would like to simulate an acoustic torque. To do so, the idea is to use a ring transducer using makeCircle, then the time varying pressure is set to cycle around the source in order to excite a compressional pressure field in form a spiral. So I would like to set the transducer as a pure compressional transducer (no shear) and look if I can create some torque at the center of the spiral.
I use pstdElastic2D for the acoustic propagation. However, even if I set the initial shear stress to zero, or if I calculate the radial input stress in the x-y coordinates, there is always some shear excited at the very beginning. No matter what I do, there is always shear. I wonder that this is maybe something always there with pstdElastic2D if the source is curved. To me there should not be any shear. Is it an artifact form the fact that I want to propagate a "radial" wave in a grid with square elements? Ideally I should make a grid with radial elements isn't? but is there a way to use k-Wave for that? Since I excite a spiral I can't even use cylindrical coordinates.
Thanks for your help.
Best.
Thomas
