Hi aaalshaya,

The default directionality of elements as receivers is omnidirectional. They just sample the pressure field at a point irrespective of the direction the wave is travelling. There are several examples in the toolbox of how to model directional detectors when the directionality is predominantly due to spatial averaging (which is often the case in practice). In addition, in 2D there is built-in functionality that can give all the sensor elements the same directionality (by using a filter in k-space that applies to all the sensor elements equally) but that isn't implemented in 3D. Again, try the example in the toolbox.

Single elements as sources are also by default omnidirectional transmitters when defined as pressure sources (monopoles) but they can also be defined as velocity sources, ie. dipoles with some chosen direction.

Hope that helps.
Ben

Hi

I would like to ask about the directivity of each transducer element.
1-How I can change the directivity of each element ( linear array)?
2- which is the default directivity?

Thanks
