Hi Prabhakar,

If you use the
kWaveTransducer
class (via
makeTransducer
), the transducer must be rectangular and aligned with the grid. However, if you directly use pressure and velocity sources, these can be any shape you like. I'd suggest taking a look at the k-Wave manual and the examples included in the MATLAB help browser for more details on how to get started.

Brad.

Dear Bradley Treeby,

Thank you so much for your kind response.
I am just trying to test the simulation using rectangular transducer for various types of sources. But I could not get any function to define a cylindrical source. Is there any way to design a cylindrical source using k-wave. Kindly help me in this regard.

With best regards,
Prabhakar

Hi prabhakar,

Using the
kWaveTransducer
class the orientation is fixed in this direction. However, is there some particular reason you want to do this? The labels given to the three matrix directions are somewhat arbitrary, and you can always rotate the matrix before plotting if that's the issue. The simulation results will not change if you rotate everything by 90 degrees.

Brad.

Dear Sir,

I have tried to design a linear array of transducer in the form of a rectangular (size -72*10 mm)parallel to xy axis with the help of makeTransducer. But I am getting it perpendicular to xy plane and I could not get any option to change its direction by 90 degrees to place it parallel to xy plane.

Kindly help me if there is any way to do so.
