Nothing out of the box in k-wave I’m afraid. You might want to check out j-Wave, which would be much better suited to this kind of problem.

Hello everybody,

I would like to optimize the placement of a linear Transducer array based on a desired focal spot in a heterogeneous medium. The idea is to put a point source on the desired spot and determine the optimal transducer placement (+ phase corrections) in a certain region (specified by input parameters). Geometries of the transducer element are assumed to be known.

Is there any k-wave function that optimizes this problem based on the given inputs or does it in a similar manner?

Thanks in advance!
