I'd recommend starting with a good book on biomedical ultrasound, for example the books by Thomas Szabo (Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging) or Richard Cobbold (Foundations of Biomedical Ultrasound). If you are interested in what values are used in practice, you can often get these from the manufacturers' websites or in the literature.

Hope that helps,

Brad.

Hi,

I am at the point of designing the transducer but I don't know exactly which parameters I should use. I am talking about the width, kerf, height of each element of the linear array.
I have been reading some information about it but it is not clear at all. In some papers I have read that the width should be 1/2 wavelength. In others I have read that the pitch shouldn't be larger than 1/2 wavelength, etc.
Is there any rule to choose such values?

Thank you for your help.
