Hi Juan,

I tried to run a similar simulation and seemed to get sensible answers. Perhaps you can post the rest of your code and I'll see if I can spot anything immediately obvious?

Brad.

Hi Bradley.

Thanks for your fast answer. If I increase the thickness of the mirror, I still have the same effect. I compute the sensitivity as follows:

sensor.mask=ones(Nx,Ny);
...
sensor_data = kspaceFirstOrder2D(kgrid, medium, source, sensor,input_args{:});
Datos=reshape(sensor_data,Nx,Ny,length(sensor_data(1,:)));
sensfield=max(Datos,[],3);

Thanks in advance.

Juan

Hi Juan,

What happens if you increase the thickness of the gold mirror in the simulation? The acoustic impedance mismatch between gold and water is very large, so physically you should still get the same result, but this might avoid any numerical issues with thin interfaces in the model. Also, how are you computing the sensitivity?

Brad.

Hi all.

First let me thank you once more for releasing such a handy and nice simulator.

My question is the following:

I am tryng to find the sensivity field of a cicularly focused tranducer. There is a thin mirror (gold) in front of the tranducer (well before its focal point). When I make the simulation I obtain that the maxium sensitivity values are located at the surface of the mirror... What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Juan
