Thanks Dr. Treeby.
I will try implementing this.

Hi Prabodh,

If the directivity comes from spatial averaging, you could use the new kWaveArray class. For example, you could use the known formula for the directivity of a disc shaped element, and work out the diameter to give you an acceptance angle of 30 degrees. You could then use the kWaveArray class to define a series of sensors with disc shaped detectors of this size. You would use the detector positions to set the element position, and set the focal position to the centre of the spherical grid.

Brad.

Hi,

I wish to simulate PA simulations for detectors on a spherical detection grid (facing the center of the detection sphere- the center of the spherical grid does not necessarily coincide with the center of the acoustic propagation grid (Nx/2,Ny/2,Nz/2)). The detector co-ordinates (x,y,z) are known and passed in the algorithm via sensor.mask.

I was wondering how I could include the fact that each of the detector elements has higher sensitivity in the direction of the center. Also, is it possible to limit the cone of collection of the elements to (say) 30 degrees or so?

Thank you.

Regards
Prabodh
