Hi twistor59,

I would suggest adding the vibration as an additional sinusoidal velocity (or pressure if you're trying to model a piston in an infinite baffle).

Brad.

Hi, I’m interested in modelling the properties of the field generated by an ultrasonic transducer which is subject to unwanted low frequency vibration in addition to the “desired” vibration at the ultrasonic frequency. The transducer model itself is pretty simple: a vibrating piston.

My initial thought for this is to use a velocity source for the ultrasound and add an extra sinusoidal velocity to this representing the vibration.

The alternative would be to move the source in the manner described in the Doppler example, but I fear my grid size is orders of magnitude too coarse for the displacements caused by the unwanted vibration.

I would be grateful to hear any suggestions on this.
