Hi Pavel,

The only photoacoustic image reconstruction algorithms we currently include are
kspacePlaneRecon
which reconstructs data measured over a planar measurement surface (there is a 2D version
kspaceLineRecon
), and time reversal, which can be used for any geometry of measurement surface. The simulation functions
kspaceFirstOrder1D
,
kspaceFirstOrder2D
and
kspaceFirstOrder3D
are used for time-reversal photoacoustic image reconstruction.

These are included as they are the ones actually used by the Photoacoustic Imaging Group at UCL. Neither of these are implementations of explicit backprojection formulas. There are many exact backprojection formulas to choose from for photoacoustic imaging, and all of them (if implemented as backprojections) are computationally slow.

Ben

Dear Dr. Bradley Treeby and Ben Cox,

First of all, thank you very much for nice toolbox that allows to feel photoacoustics fast end easy. I am just curious if there are any Back-Projection Algorythm examples.

Thank you and Regards,
Pavel
