Hi Gg,

If you perform a simulation with an object of the
kWaveTransducer
class as the sensor, the data that is returned is the raw pressure data for each physical transducer element, i.e., before any beamforming.

Within the code, the signal for each physical element is averaged across the grid points that form part of the element. This includes any delays in the elevation direction if there is an elevation focus set. However, this can be turned off by setting
elevation_focus_distance
to
inf
.

The beamforming on receive is only performed if you call the
scan_line
method. There are more details in the Using An Ultrasound Transducer As A Sensor Example.

Hope that helps,

Brad.

Hi All, Hi Dr. Cox and Dr. Treeby,
I'm would like save pre-beamforming RF data channel,
ie data without delay, of if you want data without any optical lens.
Is it possible to obtain them using transducer class?
If yes how must I set the attributes of the class the are generally used to obtain beamformed signals? It is possible to see an example?

One more question, reading the manual I understand that generally delays shifts are performed two times both in input and output, it is true?

I hope that my questions are clear.

Gg
