Hi huxibunengshuo,

In k-Wave, the medium properties (sound speed, density, etc) are defined as matrices, where each element of the matrix gives the medium property at the corresponding grid point. To simulate a defect, you will need to create a medium property map that has the properties of the defect (e.g., air or water) wherever the defect is present. Keep in mind that k-Wave uses a regular Cartesian grid, so this will restrict the crack geometries that you can represent. There is lots more information about k-Wave in the manual and the examples included in the toolbox if you need some specifics about how to define the matrices and run the model.

Hope that helps,

Brad.

Hi

I want to conduct a ultrasonic simulation of defects in metals by using k-wave.But I do not know how to define a defect, like a surface crack, in the MATLAB.I really wish you can help me.

Thanks a lot
sincerely
