Hi again,

I just figured out that the function 'kspaceFirstOrder2D(args)' returns 'sensor_data' which yields an oscillating amplitude when plotted. For now, that's pretty much what I was looking for. Thanks a ton!

Best
Chris

Hi Brad,

Thanks for your help on this. I followed your advice and started with the 'example_tvsp_snells_law.m'. There, I managed to reduce the number of transducers to a single one with 'elements=1;' and connected a sensor via 'sensor.mask = source.p_mask;'.
I further added the new 'sensor' variable to the command 'kspaceFirstOrder2D(kgrid, medium, source, sensor, input_args{:});'. Running this setup, I only find a single peak in sensor.mask, but nothing else. I would expect an oscillating signal or at least a pressure amplitude of certain length. Can you please guide me to the point where I can find such sensor data?

I look forward to your reply.

Many thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

There is no specific example for this. However, you could take something like the Snell's Law And Critical Angle Reflection Example, set
source.p
to be a single time series (so the source mask acts as a single transducer), assign
source.p_mask
to
sensor.mask
(so you use the same transducer to send and receive), and then update the medium definition as needed.

Brad.

Dear all,

I am considering to use k-Wave for simulation of a single transducer element (no phased-array) to model the ultrasound emission, power law, reflection at a target and acquisition of the reflected signal by the same transducer. I read through the manual, looked at the documentation and studied the example scripts, but I am still having a hard time setting up my relatively simple simulation.

Is it possible to reproduce the above-mentioned setup within k-Wave? What would be a suitable starting point for reading or coding?

Any help is appreciated.

Many thanks
Chris
