Hi George,

If you have a scatterer in an otherwise homogeneous background medium, then I think this is a sensible way to decompose the direct and scattered wave. If the background medium also changes, then probably not (the direct wave will not be the same in the two cases).

I'm not sure I follow what you mean by the coefficient of the direct wave?

Brad

Hi Brad,

Thank you for your reply. I have tried your method and it helps me a lot. But I still have two questions.
(1) The medium is changed. Can we ignore the difference between the two direct wave?
(2) How to calculate the coefficient of the direct wave before subtracting it?

Thanks your time very much!

George

Hi George,

Could you run a simulation in a homogeneous medium first (i.e., without the scatterer), and then subtract this from your simulation?

Brad.

Hi,

First, thanks for the tool, it really helps me a lot with my research.

I want to research that how the scattered wave change with time by sensor. Is there any fast way to remove the influence of the direct wave.

Best,
George
