			<description>&#60;p&#62;This formula shouldn’t have the f in the denominator. Without the f, it gives you the time average intensity under the assumption of a plane wave (and a time average over an integer number of periods or a long signal), where P is the amplitude of the acoustic wave. It will give a reasonable approximation near the focus of a focused transducer, but may become inaccurate away from it, depending on the shape of the field.

P: pressure&#60;br /&#62;
rho: medium density&#60;br /&#62;
c: acoustic speed&#60;br /&#62;
f: frequency&#60;/p&#62;
