Dear Sir,
There are two kinds of reconstruction algorithms very common in literature for photoacoustic tomography.
1) Time-domain reconstruction algorithms (such as backprojection and time reversal)
2) Frequency-domain photoacoustic equation (Helmholtz equation) (model-) based reconstruction algorithm using finite elements.
Please tell me about advantages and disadvantages of both these approaches.
