   Hi,

   I need to define absorption for part of my simulation domain.
   I am using medium.alpha_power the same for all domain and the medium.alpha_coeff is non-zero for the part of domain that must be absorbing.
   It works for high frequency sinusoidal sources but when the frequency of the source is low or it is broadband non-sinusoidal the absorption doesn't work. it seems there is leakage of acoustic energy to the absorbing domain. Would you please help me if k-wave can absorb non-harmonic or low-frequency excitation?

   Hi Babak,

   Yes, the absorption also works for broadband sources. Foe example, see the "Modelling Power Law Absorption Example". I'm not sure I follow what you mean by "leakage of acoustic energy to the absorbing domain".

   Hi Babak,

   All the k-Wave examples are accessible via the MATLAB help browser. Open help, then select k-Wave. You should find the example under the heading "Numerical Analysis".

   Hi again,

   I have tried several times to model absorption in the part of the domain for the case of transient pressure source. But it becomes unstable. The same model works for a harmonic source.

   I would highly appreciate it if you could have an example of this scenario to see if it works.
