   Hi

   I recently started using a time varying source. To cut a long story short the output waveform I get from source.p0 and a time varying source have the same form, however with the time varying source the waveform amplitude appears to be squared. My source amplitude has a Gaussian shape in time.

   The output waveforms should have an exponential shape and a factor of two in the exponential fit is important. If anyone knows why this happens i.e. different units or something else I would be very grateful.

   If you are inputing a short Gaussian when using a time-varying source, i.e., one that meets stress confinement, at least partially, then the initial pressure amplitude will be related to the integral of the Gaussian.

   I'm not sure what you mean by "The output waveforms should have an exponential shape and a factor of two in the exponential".
