   In the examples I see 2D FFT reconstruction for line sensor and planner sensor, but not for circular sensor. typically for PAT with single element transducer, circular geometry is used and it will be useful to have FFT recon for circular sensors as well. There is time reversal for a circular sensor, but no FFT recon. Is FFT recon for circular sensor difficult? I am assuming FFT recon will be less time consuming compared to time reversal and might be helpful for PAT recon.

   do you plan to add that function in the future?

   Hi manojit,

   There is nothing exactly like the planar FFT reconstruction for the cylindrical or spherical geometries. There are very many algorithms out there for these geometries though, and also explicitly for the 2D circular case. Leonid Kunyansky published a reconstruction technique a few years ago which may be useful for you: Kunyansky, L. "Fast reconstruction algorithms for the thermoacoustic tomography in certain domains with cylindrical or spherical symmetries" Inverse Problems and Imaging, 6(1), 111-131 (2012). He and Peter Kuchment have published a useful summary of many of the families of reconstruction approaches for photoacoustic tomography in Kuchment, P. & Kunyansky, L. "Mathematics of Photoacoustic and Thermoacoustic Tomography" Chapter 19, Handbook of Mathematical Methods in Imaging, Springer, pages 819-865, 2011.

   We do hope to include some of these algorithms in k-Wave eventually, but I hesitate to say when that will be.
